I believe that therapy provides a valuable opportunity to explore the choices and options in life that align with what truly matters to you. I collaborate closely with my clients, creating a safe and supportive environment to help you navigate challenging situations, life transitions, and personal relationship issues. And I believe that therapy is a unique opportunity that can be a healing experience. I have a calm demeanor that puts clients at ease and gives them the freedom to share their story without fear of being judged, while listening with compassion. I’m able to see the humor in some situations while maintaining professionalism. My focus is on individuals aged 21 and older, including people navigating midlife and post-retirement. I provide an inclusive and supportive space for clients of all races, cultures, lifestyles, sexual orientations and relationship statuses. I help clients address symptoms of depression and anxiety. It’s important to find the root of depression and anxiety and then come up with strategies to defeat them.

Training and Experience:

I received a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University. I began counseling in community mental health centers in 2013, where I worked with children, young adults, adults and couples with a variety issues. I have also worked in large and small therapy practices and began a private practice 2 years ago. I’m trained in EMDR, use CBT, Narrative Therapy and Person Centered Therapy. I do my best to understand my clients’ personality and use a modality that is best suited for them.

On a personal note:

I transitioned to practicing as a therapist in mid-life. Previously, I worked in high tech which gave me a valuable combination of professional insight and lived experience in the workplace and an understanding of workplace dynamics firsthand. I have been married for 25+ years and raised two children. I’ve guided my kids through their teen age years and into young adulthood. And navigated the challenges of mid-life. These experiences have deeply enriched my perspective and empathy in my therapeutic practice. Along with my formal education and training, these aspects make my approach well-rounded, practical and relatable as it’s grounded in real-world experience.
